Students from underserved backgrounds in India face a number of issues in accessing higher education and building their career trajectories. Thousands of talented students are deterred from pursuing their higher education due to factors such as unawareness, lack of infrastructure and resources, and gender disparity. While the internet is a great resource for finding out information on the landscape of different careers, it can be overwhelming, misleading, and confusing for many.
Student exposure is another key factor unavailable to this section of society. Exposure to different career domains during school and through workshops and seminars can allow students to explore a variety of potential career opportunities. However, due to lack of resources and finances, this kind of exposure is lacking in schools in underserved communities. Through Career Connect, we hope to provide students from these areas the needed exposure and resources to help them make informed decisions about their future.
